Welcome to Day 29 of the 30-Day Study & Pray Challenge!
If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. Romans 14:8 (NIV)
We belong to the Lord.
In life and death.
Verse 9 says, “For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.”
When we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, we become heirs to eternal life.
We now look beyond our selfish desires because we have something greater to live for.
We now live to glorify God.
Everything we do should glorify God.
How we talk.
What we listen to.
What we watch.
How we work.
How we eat.
What we think.
Everything should glorify God.
And our job isn’t to judge each other.
We should help each other.
The strong should help the weak.
Verse 12 says we all have to give an account for ourselves.
Our job, is to make sure we are living for our Lord.
What I like so much about this scripture is how it displays God’s eternal nature and power.
His power over life and death.
Romans 8:38-39 states…
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
There is nothing that can separate us from God’s love.
When we truly understand this, living for Him is the only option.
Live for the Lord.
Die for the Lord.
So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
Will you live for the Lord?
Lord, we know that nothing can separate us from your love.
It doesn’t matter if we live for You or die for You because we belong to You no matter what.
Let us not judge each other but let us strengthen each other because we all have to answer for ourselves.
Let us focus on Your will for our lives.
In Jesus’s name I pray, amen.
