Let Your Light Shine In Business

14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 5:13-16 (ESV)

We are the light of the world.

So what does that mean?

We are to illuminate a dark world with the light of Christ.

Our businesses should be lights that bring people to Jesus.

Next time we serve a client, let’s understand that we are serving Christ. Everything we do, let’s do heartily for Christ.

Any chance we get to share the love of God in the marketplace, let’s share His love.

When it comes time to stand firm on the Gospel of Christ and proclaim it to the world, let’s stand firm and proclaim it.

Jesus already paved the way…

John 1:5 tells us that Jesus is the light, that the light shines, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Jesus is the source of our light and as long as we stay plugged into him, we have unlimited power.

And he’s not going to keep increasing our power bill.

As a matter of fact, to be tapped into this unlimited source of power is free.

All we have to do is let our light shine.

How do we let our light shine in our businesses?

Philippians 2:14-15 tells us to not complain or argue, be blameless, and hold firm to the word of life.

1 Peter 2:11-17 tells us to abstain from sinful desires, be honorable, submit to authority, do good, honor everyone, love, fear God, and honor authority.

When we do these things, we glorify God.

Here are three steps to let your light shine in business that we can implement today:

  1. Love others
  2. Live blameless lives and,
  3. Practice what you preach.

Do these and do them consistently.

Let this be a way of life and your light will shine brightly.
